Plan Apple TV sensor slots before pairing Zwift

Count physical connections rather than the number of tiles on the pairing screen.

Build a physical inventory

Write down each separate wireless device: trainer, heart-rate strap, cadence sensor and any independently connected accessories. Under each device, list the data it provides. This separates a two-device setup with several data roles from a setup that really needs three or four connections.

Choose the cadence source

A trainer that provides the cadence you want can avoid a separate cadence-device connection. Confirm the values during a short ride and select the intended source on Zwift’s pairing screen. Keeping a separate sensor may still be useful, but it needs its own place in the connection plan.

Change the route when the direct budget is too small

The documented direct Apple TV setup allows two active sensors alongside the remote. For additional compatible devices, follow Zwift’s Companion bridge workflow. Keep the phone available for the session and test the connection before an event. A bridge changes where the sensors connect; it does not erase device-profile or phone limitations.
